ISMuL (Integrated Science Multi-use Laboratory) is part of the University of Puerto Rico’s Resource Center for Science and Engineering. Located at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo, this innovative, multi-level, multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary project has been designed to promote the advancement of education in Science, Math and Technology using a variety of strategies and approaches. Funding for ISMuL comes mostly from NASA and Puerto Rico Space Grant (PRSG).

On Friday, January 18, 2013 at Room AC-336 (ISMuL) the workshop NASA Engineering in the Classroom took place from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The activity, led by Dr. Lester Morales, was attended by science, mathematics, engineering, and technology teachers, as well as history, special education, and information systems facilitators from multiple educative levels. Those present delved into the study of the NASA model for engineering education through activities such as the building of a scale satellite, the launch of another satellite, and the functionality of a moon buggy.
