Description

The Integrated Science Multi-use Laboratory in coordination with the Departments of Mathemathics and Physics & Chemistry offers workshops of robotics to Elementary School students of the Educational Region of Arecibo in the facilities of ISMuL. The goal is  to create a pilot project to eventually work the robotics with the students of all levels and it is implemented using Lego Mindstorm.

The robots are used as a tool to present basic concepts of science, math, engineering and technology (STEM) such as velocity, force, gear, efficient design and programming.  The students have experiences in the solution of problems in the design, programming and construction of the robots.  All under the model of group working with the expectations to develop in them an early interest in STEM career. The workshops are offered by Dr. José F. Candelaria Soberal and Dr. Guillermo Nery Gómez.
