Classroom Workshop: Periodic Table and Numbers and, Aerospace Education
On Friday, March 11, 2022, the face-to-face workshops were held: The Periodic Table and Numbers and Aerospace Education, offered by Prof. Mónica Medina Quintana and Dr. Guillermo Nery from the Department of Physics-chemistry at UPRA. Participants were: Intermediate and higher level students from the Montessori School in San Juan. During both workshops the students had the opportunity to learn and visualize the elements present in the periodic table, organization within the table, models and atomic numbers. Also, on the basic principles that govern air navigation.
Virtual workshop: Ecosystems
On Wednesday, October 25, 2021, the Ecosystem virtual workshop was held, offered by Prof. Glory Toledo Durán. The participants were: Kindergarten through 7th grade science teacher. During the workshop, a variety of topics were discussed such as: levels of biological organization, ecosystems of planet earth, importance of living beings in the biosphere, global pollution and, among other basic topics. In addition, a demonstration was made on how to elaborate different types of ecosystems such as: terrestrial ecosystems with groundwater, aquatic ecosystems, and desert ecosystems.
Virtual workshop: The Periodic Table and the Numbers
On Thursday, March 17, 2022, the virtual workshop on the Periodic Table and Numbers was held, offered by Prof. Mónica Medina Quintana Participants were: AHEC Homeschooling students During the workshop, the elements found in the periodic table, its organization within the table, as well as the atomic models and numbers. The use of mathematical principles to determine subatomic particles in atoms of the elements was also explored, as well as other fundamental concepts related to the periodic table. In addition, an activity was carried out for the participants that consisted of the construction of an atomic model using plasticine of the isotopes of the element carbon-12.

Join our academy

The fundamental purpose of the ISMuL STEM Summer Academy is to provide outstanding students in science and mathematics, who will be in seventh or eighth grade in August 2022, with experiences in the area of STEM. These experiences will help the student in making decisions when choosing a professional career. In order for us to evaluate your request, all boxes with a red asterisk* must be completed.
